Cowboy Dan Somers (John Wayne) and oilman Jim “Hunk” Gardner (Albert Dekker) compete for oil lease rights on Indian land in Oklahoma, as well as for the favors of schoolteacher Cathy Allen ( Martha Scott). An all-around well done movie, with equal parts comedy, romance, and old time western action. One of “The Duke’s” best.

This little Romantic Western film, starring none other than THE John Wayne, is all about the recovery of Quirt Evans (John Wayne). Quirt is a pretty bad notorious gunman kind of guy, not a very likable guy. While wounded and on the run, Quirt (I love that name) eventually makes it to a Quaker family’s land, […]

During the Texas Centennial, Ford (Gene Autry) decides to skip out of his obligated appearance for some vacation time, leaving his stunt double… Gene Autry? to fill in for […]
This little Western flick is a fictionalized version of the struggle to build the Kansas Pacific Railway in the 1860s just before the Civil War began. I enjoyed this movie, just don’t use it as a real history lesson.

It all starts when Barbara Hartwell is wrongfully accused of murdering her uncle… I really enjoyed […]
