Captain Ben Cutlet (Will Hay) likes to spin yarns about all of his false seafaring adventures. One day his false past comes to bite him as he is bluffed into captaining the Rob Roy at sea, the Rob Roy being barely sea worthy and doomed to be wrecked by a crafty shipping agent.
An under performing railway worker becomes the stationmaster at a sleepy unknown Irish town, thanks to the help of a relative. He still desires to put some life into the place, but instead falls in with a crowd criminals. This is considered one of the best Will Hay movies.
A man who is trying to get away from women is relieved when sent to a lighthouse to study the weather. However, even on the remote island he finds women right and left. I wish I had his problem.
