This little Western flick is a fictionalized version of the struggle to build the Kansas Pacific Railway in the 1860s just before the Civil War began. I enjoyed this movie, just don’t use it as a real history lesson.

It seems people prefer Hitchcock’s silent version, this remake was made while talking in movies was still in a refining phase, and the characters change a bit in odd ways because of that.
